Re-appointment of two SACN members - December 2011

The Scientific Advisory Committee on Nutrition (SACN) are pleased to announce the re-appointment of the following members:

 

Professor Paul Haggarty

Re-appointed for a further 4 years from 1st January 2012

 

Mrs Christine Gratus

Re-appointed for a further year from 1st April 2012

 

These re-appointments have been made in accordance with the Office for the Commissioner of Public Appointments (OCPA) Code of Practice.  All non-executive appointments are made on merit and political activity plays no part in the selection process. However, in accordance with the original Nolan recommendations, there is a requirement for appointees political activity (if any declared) to be made public. Professor Paul Haggarty and Christine Gratus have not declared any political activity and do not hold any other ministerial appointments.

 

These re-appointments will take both members to the maximum 10 years at the end of their term.

 

The SACN are grateful for the continued interest of Professor Haggarty and Mrs Gratus and are pleased to retain their experience and expertise on the Committee.
